• Query Languages in the E-R-datamodel
  The only ISO standard for an E-R-database is PCTE. Due to the standard's lack of a set-oriented query language for PCTE, I have both designed and implemented one, named NTT. NTT takes full benefit of the concepts I have developed for the dealing with partial inaccessibility.
• Partial Inaccessibility
  Highly distributed databases (e.g. on top of the Internet) tend only to be partly accessible. Under these circumstances, usual query evaluation is not adequate. I have investigated techniques for the query processing in partly inaccessible databases. This work has been supported by the DFG (German research community) as the project "Unscharfe Ergebnisse von Anfragen in partiell zugreifbaren Datenbanken für Software-Entwicklungsumgebungen" (German text).
